Prime Minister orders uplift of infrastructure at Murree

imageISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Thursday ordered the preservation of heritage of Murree and improvement of its infrastructure as the city has tourist significance.
He said this while chairing a review meeting on the improvement of facilities at Murree, held at the PM House.
In the meeting, the Prime Minister was briefed on the restoration of old sites, solid waste management, traffic situation and existing tourism facilities at Murree.
The Prime Minister issued directions that old buildings, having historic significance at Murree, be restored to their original shape.
He instructed that special attention should be paid to traffic management for facilitating tourists and emphasized on regular maintenance of roads.
Referring to the natural resources, he asked the Forest Department not to allow deforestation at any cost.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also directed for not allowing any kind of illegal development activities and ordered for removal of illegal structures.
The meeting was attended by Minister for Information Senator Parvaiz Rashid, Special Assistant to PM Khwaja Zaheer Ahmed, MNA Hamza Shahbaz, Political Secretary to PM Dr. Asif Saeed Kirmani, senior officers from Punjab Government and Murree administration.
