Sunny Not Allowed to Enter Lucknow Pub

Sunny Leone
Hottie Sunny Leone was not allowed to enter into Blue The Lounge, a watering hole at Sapru Marg, Lucknow. She was scheduled to promote her upcoming Ragini MMS 2 there. However, she had a rude shock when she was not even allowed to step out of her car.

"We can't let Sunny enter the lounge," said sub-inspector Dheeraj Singh. A leading tabloid quoted him saying, "This is election time and iss samay Lucknow mein aachar sanhita Section 144 lagu hai. Therefore, no party can be organised where a celebrity is being called without the permission of the DM. We have got orders to not let Sunny enter the party venue." He said, "Also, people are consuming alcohol inside and what if something goes wrong with the celebrity? We can't take a risk."

Sunny Leone's husband, Daniel Weber and the team who travelled along were furious and seemed to be disappointed with the reaction. It was supposed to be the responsibility of the lounge managers to seek prior permission before inviting. However, they had a different story to tell. "We have nothing to do with Sunny Leone's party in our lounge. We have just rented out this place to an event management company and have given them a NOC for the party. That's it!  We can't do anything if the event manager has not taken necessary permissions," said the lounge manager. Apparently, this isn't the first time this has happened, Sunny was earlier barred entry in Indore, where she was scheduled to promote the same film.

Polio vaccination proof mandatory for Pakistani nationalists to enter India after March 15

Though the requirement was supposed to come into effect from January, India extended the deadline to allow Pakistan to set up necessary infrastructure.
Though the requirement was supposed to come into effect from January, India extended the deadline to allow Pakistan to set up necessary infrastructure.
India on Tuesday announced that proof of vaccination against polio would be mandatory after March 15 for everyone entering India from Pakistan to safeguard the country’s polio-free status.
Travellers from Pakistan will have to carry vaccination certificate, which would be later returned to them along with their visa.
“Pakistani nationals resident in Pakistan and planning to travel to India after March 15, 2014 will be required to submit along with their visa applications a certificate of vaccination for one dose of Oral Polio Vaccination received at least four weeks prior to departure to India,” a statement released by the Indian High Commission in Islamabad said.
India had earlier announced that starting March 15, it would be mandatory for all persons – adults or children – travelling to the country from Pakistan to furnish proof of vaccination against the crippling disease.
“The step is being taken to safeguard India’s polio-free status attained after sustained efforts and investment,” an Indian High Commission official said.
Though the requirement was supposed to come into effect from January, India extended the deadline to allow Pakistan to set up necessary infrastructure.
The measure is applicable to all travellers from all countries where polio disease is endemic or where cases of polio are reported.
The number of polio cases in Pakistan, one of the only three countries where the disease is endemic, crossed over 90 last year. A number of fresh cases have also come to light this year.
Militants and gunmen frequently attack vaccination teams, accusing them of being Western spies and part of a plot to “sterilise” Muslims.
The announcement came on a day when Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif chaired a meeting on polio at his residence.
Sharif said it is a matter of grave concern that there is a possibility of travel restrictions being imposed on Pakistanis since virus from Pakistan has been found linked to polio cases in other countries.
“Since it is a question of honour, image and prestige of our country, we must redouble our efforts to eradicate polio from our country,” Sharif was quoted as saying in an official statement.

Veena Malik to enter politics, joins PTI

LONDON: Veena Malik has announced that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will be her party of preference when she joins practical politics in Pakistan.
The actress and commentator, who is in London these days with her husband Asad Khan Khattak, said this during a meet the press here organised by the leading organisation of Pakistani newsmen in Britain- Pakistan Journalists Association (PJA).

She was all the praise for Imran Khan’s party and said that she believes efforts should be made to get Pakistan rid of corruption and the PTI has that programme against corruption. PJA’s President Wajahat Ali Khan moderated the question and answer session in which a large number of leading Pakistani community figures also participated.

One of the reasons why Veena Malik has fondness for the PTI is the fact that her hubby is a long-standing PTI supporter. “Asad has always been part of the PTI family and I now I am also part of the same extended family. This is the platform for us. I come from a military background but my father always wanted me to enter politics. My father-in-law is also of the same view, he is a supporter of Imran Khan too. So the whole family is basically the PTI family.”

She announced that she would be travelling to Pakistan in the end of March and the couple would meet the veteran Rawalpindi politician Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed for tea. “Sheikh Rasheed sb is also part of the PTI family so it will be good to have tea with him.”

Asad Khattak quipped that since Sheikh Rasheed had extended invitation to Veena Malik for tea several years ago — which the actress had then reportedly turned down — meeting the fiery politician will make his wish come true.

When questioned about wearing Pakistan’s traditional scarf — Dupatta style — Veena Malik said that she had decided to take scarf out of her personal choice and nobody had forced her into it. “Those who know me know that Veena Malik cannot be forced or coerced into doing things against her will. This is a personal decision and it doesn’t mean that I am making a political statement or want to send out a message. It’s true that my family and friends have supported me in many decisions that I have made in my life. Now I am married and living a happy life. I am a Pakistani Muslim and I am proud of my identity. I have always supported Pakistan whether in India or elsewhere and I will always do that.”

She revealed that it’s her desire to masters in Islamic studies. “I have told Asad that I want to do Masters in Islamic studies and that he should help me get admission so that I could do my Masters degree.”
