Multan: Father, 2 sons killed in rivals’ firing

MARDAN: A father and his two sons were killed in the rivals’ firing, while one person sustained injury on Sunday here, Geo News reported.

Police said that three persons were killed and one passer-by sustained injury in firing by a group of armed persons at Umarabad, who managed to escape from the scene. A father and his two sons included among the dead, while the injured passer-by has been shifted to the hospital for medical aid, police said.

Djokovic to become a father

PARIS: World number two tennis star Novak Djokovic announced on Thursday that he and girlfriend Jelena Ristic are expecting their first child.

The Serbian six-time Grand Slam winner is currently sidelined with a right wrist injury picked up at last week´s Monte Carlo Masters but announced the good news on his twitter account. "Jelena is pregnant !!! We will soon be parents," the 26-year-old winner of 43 ATP titles tweeted on his account @DjokerNole.

The expectant couple have been dating since 2005 and recently got engaged in September 2013.

Girl killed by father, brother for marrying ex-brother-in-law

LAHORE: A married girl was shot dead by her father and brother in the name of ‘honour’ in the Islampura area on Saturday.

The police said accused Muhammad Ashraf and his son Akhtar had nursed a grudge against Humaira, daughter of Muhammad Ashraf, after she married her ex-brother-in-law, Amjad. Humaira was sitting in her lawyer’s car and waiting for recording her statement under Section 164 CrPC when Ashraf and Akhtar allegedly shot her dead.

Missing bureaucrat's son says his father perhaps kidnapped in KPK

PESHAWAR: Former Advisor federal ombudsman Amjad Shahid Afridi went missing, while his car was recovered from near Chach Toll Plaza on the Motorway here, Geo News reported on Friday.

Amjad Shahid Afridi’s services were handed over to the Khyber Pukhtunkhaw provincial government nearly a month ago and while he was awaiting for some important assignment to be entrusted to him here, he went missing since last two days.

The son of the missing bureaucrat, Wasim Khan Afridi told Geo News that no contact could be made with his father for the last two days and feared that he has been perhaps kidnapped. He said his father was staying in the Peshawar state guesthouse.

The initial report of his gone missing has been registered in police station (East).

Amjad Shahid Afridi had earlier held the posts of provincial education secretary, secretay higher education and secretary science information technology.
