Aishwarya Rai, Big B, Kajol at Rajinikanth’s ‘Kochadiiyaan’ first look launch

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan launched the first look of Tamil superstar and friend Rajinikanth’s much awaited film ‘Kochadaiiyaan’ in Mumbai on Sunday (March 30).

Amitabh Bachchan was joined by his wife Jaya Bachchan and daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Aishwarya, who has worked with Rajinikanth in blockbuster ‘Robot’, was also seen with her mother Brinda Rai at the event. However, film’s lead actress Deepika Padukone did a no show at the event.

Big B has earlier tweeted, “Launching first look of dear family friend, colleague and admirer of Rajnikanth, tonight, of his film Kochdiiyaan’.

Bollywood actress Kajol, actors Anupam Kher and Kunnal Roy Kapur along with filmmaker Subhash Ghai were among the attendees.

Earlier, Shah Rukh Khan had launched the music for the film in Chennai, where he was accompanied by the film’s lead actress Deepika Padukone and other celebs.

The film’s director and Rajinikanth’s daughter Soundarya initially wanted Amitabh Bachchan to the launch the film’s music however due to other commitments Big B could not make it.

  

Meanwhile, Amitabh Bachchan is busy promoting his upcoming film ‘Bhoothnath Returns’ and is also shooting for the television serial.

Kajol looks beyond women-centric roles for Bollywood comeback

Bollywood actress Kajol is excited to return to the silver screen in husband Ajay Devgn's next but doing only women-oriented roles is not her priority.

Kajol, 39, has green-lighted a film to be produced by Ajay Devgn's home production. Contrary to the trend of women being the protagonist in contemporary films, Kajol feels good script essentially makes a good movie.

"The script has to be good. I don't look whether (the film) is women-oriented or not because I believe everyone contributes for the film and not just one person. It is about everybody in the film. The script has to be fabulous," Kajol told in an exclusive interview here.

Kajol said the home venture may take-off by year-end.

She said to get married and have kids was her conscious decision.

"There was dream to be a mother. I think it was very well spent time with my kids. My kids are wonderful and I have a big hand in it," she said.

Kajol took a sabbatical when she was at the peak of her career.

"It was the right time for me and I don't regret it (the decision) at all. For me, all my decisions have been taken at the right time only. There is no ifs and buts for me," she said.

The film that Ajay would be producing is in news for quite some time but Kajol is in no mood to disclose details.

"I hope it will be both serious and entertaining. We have an idea on hand but it is too early to talk about it. When we start shooting the film then we can say a bit about it," the actress said.

When asked how heroines discontinue their Bollywood career after certain age but the male actors continue to work even after the age of 40, Kajol said things will change.

"I feel we have less ideas. And our audience wants to watch only certain kind of cinema, however this is changing now. This is the time for new age cinema. The audience is changing and our longevity will increase," she said.

Will Tanishaa Mukherji go against Kajol to tie the knot with Armaan Kohli?

Yes, the Fanaa actor recently made an appearance on Karan Johar’s popular chat show Koffee with Karan, where she was asked by the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai director that, if she was ready to have Armaan Kohli in her life. “That we’ll see about! That’s another topic for another day,” is what KJo got from his best friend. Well, that statement was enough to prove that Kajol is not too happy with her sister’s love, hai na?

Anyway, if the rumours are true that Tanishaa and Armaan are engaged secretly, we wonder if it happened with Kajol’s consent, or without. We also hear that the two lovebirds are planning to tie the knot very soon, so will that also happen without Kajol’s say in it? What do you think,

Sonakshi Insults Kajol?

During the Lakme Fashion Week 2014,  Sonakshi Sinha was spotted reportedly ignoring Kajol. Even as the two had a chance to talk, she turned a blind eye to Kajol and did not bother to greet her . "Sonakshi ignored both the sisters (Tanisha too) and started chatting with other actresses like Amisha Patel. The first time, they came almost face to face but they just moved away without acknowledging each other. This happened on two more occasions but they did not exchange even a hello," a leading tabloid quoted a source as saying.

 

What is more shocking is that Ajay Devgn has been shooting for his next film Action Jackson with co-star Sonakshi. They had earlier worked together in Son of Sardaar and share a good rapport with each other. Even as Kajol's sister Tanisha Mukherji befriended Sona post Son of Sardaar, the latter seems to have ignored both the sisters. "Not many know that Kajol has never been too fond of Sonakshi and has always given her the cold shoulder. Ajay, on the other hand, seems rather fond of Sona and the two are even shooting together for their next film, Prabhu Deva's Action Jackson," added the source. Even though they had earlier pretended to be good friends, their recent deliberate dodging seems to have caught the eye of the onlookers.

Kajol Opposes Armaan's Relationship With Tanisha?

Armaan Kohli and Tanisha Mukherji have been making the headlines ever since their relationship set foot on the sets of Big Boss 7. Their bond was visible to the public eye after the show aired them getting intimate and cozy. However, the couple made no bones about it. Their relationship has continued even after the curtains were drawn over the show. They were spotted together at events and award functions. The couple was last seen walking down the ramp together at Lakme Fashion Week 2014.  However, this doesn’t seem to have impressed Tanisha's family.

 

Earlier when Tanisha signed up to participate in the show, her family did not approve it, but, nevertheless, she went ahead and was chosen as one of the finalists.

 

Recently, Tanisha's sister Kajol and Cousin Ayan Mukerji were seen sharing the couch on Koffee With Karan. As expected, Karan Johar had tricky questions to throw to Kajol. When he asked if she was ready to welcome Armaan to her family, Kajol let it slip about her opinion. She said, "That we'll see... We'll leave that conversation for another day," and her smile immediately faded away.

 

We wonder if Tanisha will be able to convince her bubbly sister Kajol and get her approval for her marriage.

Kajol Against The No Smoking Disclaimer

Actress Kajol attended a special session at the 15^th edition of FICCI Frames 2014 on Wednesday and said it's unfair to say that one gets influenced by watching cinema.

The star of films like Dushman and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, was speaking on the ideas behind censorship guidelines.

"My kids are in front of the computer 24X7 despite having all the parental control. There is no way to stop the flow of information. The flow of information is too fast and too much. If you say one gets influenced watching a character, I think it's foolish. Cinema reflects society, society rarely reflects cinema," Kajol said.

She added: "Movie shows whatever happens in the society. For instance, if a hero smokes on the screen, it is because 90 percent of the country smokes and not the other way round. It's stupid to say one gets influenced by watching on the screen."

The session was organised in partnership with LA India Film Council.

Kajol shared the dais with filmmaker Sudhir Mishra; Rakesh Kumar, CEO, Central Board of Film Certification; Filmmaker and co-chair of FICCI Ramesh Sippy and Ravi Kottarakara, President, Film Federation of India.

Mishra spoke about the "No Smoking" disclaimer issue faced by the filmmakers and said: "Our only request is, do not put 'No Smoking' disclaimer on the frame. Put it before or after the scene because you are taking away that moment from the filmmaker."

Kajol said if a director has shot that particular scene, then with such disclaimer "you are cutting down the creativity of the director".

Rakesh responded to their complaint saying right now he cannot comment upon it as the matter is "sub-judice in the court".

However, when Kajol asked can one change the guidelines of the Censor Board, Sippy said: "We can try and bring changes in guidelines".

Ajay is sexiest actor: Kajol

 

It's been 15 years since Kajol married Ajay Devgn, but she still finds him to be the "sexiest actor" in Bollywood, and says she craves to go on a romantic date with him as they don't get "enough" time.

During a tete-a-tete on her filmmaker friend Karan Johar's celebrity chat show "Koffee With Karan", Kajol spoke candidly about her changed fashion choices, choosy nature in picking films, about the new brigade of actors and of her loving husband.

Karan asked her - "Who is the sexiest actor in the movies? Objectively today?"

Pat came the reply: "My husband."

The filmmaker, who considers Kajol as his lucky charm and who has roped her in for all his movies so far, pulled her leg by saying: "I have a Kajol song - 'Bhala hai bura hai jaisa bhi hai mera pati mera devata hai...' (Whether he is good or bad, my husband is my god)"

Kajol retorted: "I am sorry it's got nothing (to do with that). ...I really find him the sexiest actor, I really like those dark brooding looks! It's got to do with my personal taste."

Ajay and Kajol have two children together - daughter Nyasa and son Yug.

Since both the actors lead busy lives, when Kajol was asked to name "a person from the film industry you would like to take on a romantic date", she said: "My husband!"

Justifying her response, Kajol said: "I don't get enough time with him. I would really like to take him out for a romantic date."

Also, Karan asked her to rate a select few male actors on the basis of their talent and acting ability.

He gave Kajol a choice from Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Ajay, Ranbir Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan, but was quick to remove Ajay from the list as he said it would be a "no brainer" to know where he would be placed.

Kajol said: "To start with, to be very honest with you...I would really say Ranbir. I really think he is seriously fantastic. Secondly there is, I think Shah Rukh and Aamir are on par with each other. There is no up or down in that.

"Then we come to Salman and so on. Of course, but if Ajay was included in that list..."

The actress was accompanied by her cousin and director Ayan Mukerji on the show. The episode featuring them will be aired Sunday.

For Kajol, Ranbir Kapoor is hero No. 1

 

Actress Kajol, who has given several hit films in company of superstar Shah Rukh Khan, thinks Ranbir Kapoor scores higher than her long-time good and also Aamir Khan in terms of acting capabilities.

In an upcoming episode of popular TV chat show 'Koffee with Karan', the host, filmmaker Karan Johar, asks Kajol to rank - talent and acting ability wise - Shah Rukh, Salman Khan, Aamir, Ranbir and Hrithik in order of preference.
The 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' actress was quick to crown Ranbir, the junior-most among them, as No 1, though the two have not yet shared screen space.
"On the top I would say Ranbir...I think he is fantastic. On second position Shah Rukh and Aamir are on par with each other...there is no up or down in that. Then we come to Salman and so on."
To another question, Kajol said she would like to ask the Bollywood badshah about his frankness in airing his views. "Why are you so candid all the time? Don't you know people like to hear nice...pretty lies once in a while."
From her cousin-actress Rani Mukherji, Kajol wants to know when is the "Bunty Aur Babli" star getting married, a query she would pose to producer-director Aditya Chopra too.
Reports of Rani-Aditya marriage had been doing the round since quite sometime.
The 39-year-old "Fanaa" star yearns to spend more time with actor-husband Ajay Devgn. "I don't get enough time with him. I would really like to take him out for a romantic date."
Kajol, who dominated Bollywood in 1990s along with Madhuri Dixit, said she is extremely choosy about doing films.
"It (the script) has to be good. I don't want to work with someone who is not going to bring out the best in me. I don't want to work with somebody who is going to depend on me to do the 90 per cent of the work."
In the episode to be aired on March 16 on Star World, the bubbly and outspoken actress will be seen with her director-cousin Ayan Mukherji.

SRK and Kajol to feature in ’DDLJ’ remake?

According to the Hindustan Times Bollywood director Aditya Chopra is planning a remake of his 1995’s blockbuster film ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’.An industry source revealed to the Hindustan Times that the remake of the iconic film is in the pipeline but its story will be changed to suit the present time.The source further added the film will see its leading stars Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in cameo roles. Regarding its title, the tabloid, quoted ...
