Musharraf’s farmhouse declared AFIC sub-ward

ISLAMABAD: In a rare and unprecedented move, the residence of Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf was declared as a sub-ward of the AFIC, similar to a sub-jail, and this announcement was made by Musharraf’s Twitter account and his international spokesperson in London.
Musharraf’s official Twitter account announced: “Musharraf Safe at Home—Farmhouse Declared Satellite Military Hospital.” His spokesperson in London Dr Raza Bokhari, on his Facebook account, issued a formal statement to various media outlets: “We are relieved to confirm former President Musharraf, who was a target of a terrorist attack earlier today, is safe and has been relocated from the prestigious Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC) to his farmhouse on the outskirts of Islamabad.

“The home of General Musharraf has been declared a satellite facility of the military hospital. The former president is under constant supervision of a team of qualified military doctors. A flying medical squad is assigned to the farmhouse and is capable of transporting him back to AFIC when needed.”

When contacted, the security in-charge of the farmhouse of Gen Musharraf at Chak Shahzad told The News there was at the moment no doctor in the house. He said there were three layers of security at the farmhouse — two manned by the police and one by the Rangers. He did not say that any army security was also guarding the farmhouse.

The official statement of Musharraf’s international spokesman was confirmed to a private TV channel in Islamabad. The channel reported in an 8:00pm TV show that officials of the AFIC had confirmed that the residence of Musharraf had been declared as a sub-ward of the AFIC.
