ISLAMABAD:
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday allowed government
departments to hire contingent staff (on daily wages and with temporary
status) as per genuine requirements.
In this regard, the prime minister further directed heads of government departments to strictly follow applicable rules and regulations and conduct the process in a transparent manner based on merit. This decision was made to further improve the day-to-day functioning of government departments and to ensure service delivery to the citizens.
Moreover, the prime minister has given approval to hiring of independent members of the Planning Commission of Pakistan.
They include Yahya Mehmood Khwaja as member ICT & IT, Malik Ahmad Khan as member Infrastructure, Naeem-u-Zaffar as member Social Sector, Faheem-ul-Islam as member Private Sector Development and Syed Tahir Hijazi as member Governance.
The premier has also approved the appointment of Shahid Ghaffar as Managing Director of the National Investment Trust and Tahira Raza as President of the First Women Bank.
