Govt releases funds to equip LEAs with modern weapons: Abid

ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali on Wednesday said that the government has released funds to fully equip law-enforcement agencies with modern weapons to maintain law and order across the country.
He said "It was the prime responsibility of the government to protect lives and property of common people throughout the country and not only in Federal Capital".
Talking to media persons outside the Parliament House, Abid Sher Ali said that the control of law and order situation was not possible over night.
He said it would take some time and the government would take every possible measure in this regard.
The Minister said that there was dire need to overcome the deficiencies in the law-enforcement agencies.
He said it was resolve of the government to ensure good relations with neighboring countries.
