Imran must be tried under Article 6, says Abid



 












FAISALABAD: Minister of State for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali on Sunday said that the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan must be tried under Article 6 of the Constitution for treason with the nation.
He said that Imran Khan was trying to create a rift between the government and the army.Addressing a press conference here, Abid Sher Ali said the PTI was using protests to reverse the development process in the country.

The minister criticised the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader Pervaiz Elahi, Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri, Awami Muslim League (AML) Chairman Sheikh Rashid Ahmed and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan for hatching conspiracies against the governemnt. The minister said Khan was using the defence institutions for coming into power.

Abid Sher Ali said no one would be allowed to sabotage the progress, prosperity and peace in the country. He said the government would do whatever was needed to strengthen the domestic security.

He said the PML-N government had launched numerous projects to overcome the energy crisis. Criticising the political parties protesting against the government, the minister said Pervaiz Elahi was a conspirator and he was the root cause of the problem. Shaikh Rashid could not gather people at his residence, how could he launch a train march? he questioned.

The minister said these parties wanted to destabilise democracy and the country. “No one will be allowed to play the Sindh, Balochistan and KP cards and mislead the people,” he added.He said that record investment was now being made in the country.
